Nedbank lesotho wins 'Best Digital Bank in Lesotho' and 'Best Corporate Governance Bank' awards

In an unprecedented move, Nedbank Lesotho has been awarded both as the Best Digital Bank and Best Corporate Governance Bank in Lesotho for the year 2020 by the prestigious Global Banking and Finance Review (GBFR).

Nedbank has won the Best Digital Bank for the first time, following on their award as Best Internet Bank for Lesotho presented in 2017 for their enhanced electronic banking services, following on the implementation of their new core banking system which was a massive technological and change management project that was successfully delivered. This is the first time that the Best Corporate Governance Bank Award has been awarded to a bank in Lesotho, in recognition of Nedbank's industry-best governance practices.

According to the GBFR website, the annual global awards presented reflect innovation, achievement, strategy, progressive and inspirational changes taking place within the Global Financial community. The awards were created to recognize companies of all sizes which are prominent in particular areas of expertise and excellence within the financial world.

Speaking on the news of the awards, the MD of Nedbank Lesotho, Mr. Nkau Matete expressed that "the Best Digital Bank Award recognizes our strategy and aspiration of being client obsessed and leading in digital in Lesotho. The highly rated Nedbank Money App (Africa) and our other digital offerings, including the recently launched Send Money and new Online banking demonstrate our drive to constantly innovate to offer clients a unique and excellent digital experience".
