The Nedbank UNESWA Scholarship Fund
The Nedbank Swaziland Scholarship Programme is a flagship undertaking which was initiated through the bold, decisive and visionary leadership of Nedbank Swaziland. It aims to avail full scholarship funding to academically capable, albeit economically disadvantaged Swazi citizens who are enrolled at the University of Swaziland (UNESWA) in specially selected academic programmes.
How it works
Eligibility
The scholarship is characterised by carefully selected eligibility criteria. In principle, the scholarship is a merit based scholarship and academic excellence is the leading selection criteria.
Applications
The scholarship is advertised in the print and electronic media and internally on the staff and student mail. Applicants are also required to provide a written motivation and are often called-in for verbal interviews.
Requirements
Scholarship recipients are required to provide demographic information, a medical report, and police clearance report and agree to the list of terms and conditions.
Selection
The scholarship selection panel plays an oversight function and ensures transparency and accountability throughout the spectrum of vigorous selection processes. The panel comprises of Nedbank, UNESWA Foundation, Admissions, Student Affairs and Student Finance Office representatives.
